Maus is a clipboard manager for macOS, built with privacy as a priority. This policy explains what data Maus does and does not handle.
Your clipboard history is stored locally on your device, inside a SQLite database in your own Application Support folder. It never leaves your Mac. We cannot read it and we do not have access to it.
Maus does not require an account. There is no cloud sync, no server-side clipboard storage, and no remote logging of clipboard contents.
Maus collects anonymous, aggregated usage data to help us understand how the app is used and to improve it. This is limited to:
This data is sent to our analytics backend (Supabase) and used only to improve Maus. It is never sold or shared with third parties. You can opt out of analytics at any time from Maus' preferences.
If you buy Maus Pro, the purchase is processed by LemonSqueezy, our payment provider. LemonSqueezy acts as the merchant of record and collects the information needed to complete your purchase (name, email, billing country, etc.) per their own privacy policy. Maus receives only a license key and the email tied to your purchase, used exclusively to validate your license.
mausformac.com uses privacy-friendly page analytics (page views, device type, referrer) to understand how visitors reach the site. No personal data is collected and no third-party advertising cookies are set.
You can request deletion of any data associated with your purchase or license at any time by emailing manu@mausformac.com. Requests are handled within a reasonable timeframe.

We may update this policy as Maus evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
